How to Use Your Pottery Chuck

  1. Place the ZeroTrim on your wheel:
Attach the ZeroTrim securely to your pottery wheel hub. Make sure it’s stable before adding any clay pieces.

  2. Prepare your pottery piece:
Ensure your mug, bowl, or other clay piece is leather-hard. This is the ideal stage for trimming.

  3. Position your piece upside down:
Gently place the bottom of your piece onto the ZeroTrim. The ZeroTrim holds it in place without damaging the clay.

  4. Trim your piece:
Use your trimming tools to shape the base, remove excess clay, or add foot rings. You do not need to center your piece first — the ZeroTrim keeps it steady.

  5. Remove carefully:
Once trimming is complete, lift your piece straight off the ZeroTrim. Handle gently to avoid any damage.

  6. Clean your ZeroTrim:
Wipe off any clay residue after each use to keep your chuck clean and ready for the next project.

Benefits:

  • No centering required

  • Protects delicate clay

  • Works with mugs, bowls & more

  • Handcrafted in Canada
