How to Use Your Pottery Chuck
Place the ZeroTrim on your wheel:
Attach the ZeroTrim securely to your pottery wheel hub. Make sure it’s stable before adding any clay pieces.Prepare your pottery piece:
Ensure your mug, bowl, or other clay piece is leather-hard. This is the ideal stage for trimming.Position your piece upside down:
Gently place the bottom of your piece onto the ZeroTrim. The ZeroTrim holds it in place without damaging the clay.Trim your piece:
Use your trimming tools to shape the base, remove excess clay, or add foot rings. You do not need to center your piece first — the ZeroTrim keeps it steady.Remove carefully:
Once trimming is complete, lift your piece straight off the ZeroTrim. Handle gently to avoid any damage.Clean your ZeroTrim:
Wipe off any clay residue after each use to keep your chuck clean and ready for the next project.
